Attention young bluegrass pickers in New South Wales and Australia proper. The 2015 Sydney Country Music Festival will host Australia’s National Bluegrass Championships, October 31 and November 1.
The festival, which is primarily a celebration of Australia’s burgeoning country music scene, will also feature a bluegrass stage over the weekend.
A total of $5000 in prizes will be distributed to the top instrumentalists on guitar, fiddle, banjo, and mandolin. Separate divisions are available for junior (16 and under) and senior (17 and up) competitors.
Registration to enter must be received by October 11, and can be completed online. There is no fee to be eligible to compete.
Judging wil be done by The Davidson Brothers, Mike Kerin and Steve Passfield, and prizes will be donated by The Guitar Factory School Gladesville and Fender Australia.
You can find all the festival and contest deadlines online.
