Bob Perilla’s Big Hillbilly Bluegrass has recently embarked on a goodwill European tour, sponsored by the US State Department. They will perform in Moldova, Croatia, Georgia, Tajikistan, and Kyrgyzstan during the month of June, before heading for The Dominican Republic in July.
Big Hillbilly Bluegrass consists of leader Bob Perilla on guitar, Mike Munford on banjo, Tad Marks on fiddle, Elizabeth Day on vocals and Pete Kelly on bass. Perilla has been performing under this name for over 12 years, and has seen his group featured briefly in Chris Rock’s theatrical film, Head Of State.
From June 2-15, BluegrassCountry.org will be featuring a Katy Daly interview with Perilla and Day about their previous European tours. As a part of this special programming, they will be giving away 10 copies of Big Hillbilly Bluegrass’ prior tour of Armenia. Email from BGC’s site to enter.
