Balsam Range: concert series and webcasts

Event Details

Balsam Range - Tim Surrett, Marc Pruett, Caleb Smith, Darren Nicholson, Buddy MeltonWestern North Carolina bluegrass group Balsam Range, has announced an exciting new concert series.

Taking place at the Colonial Theatre, originally built in 1932 and then restored in 1992 and again in 2006, in the band’s hometown of Canton, NC, the concert series features some great bluegrass bands and some innovative technology. Balsam Range will host the series, performing at each concert themselves. In addition to the hosts, each concert will feature a well known bluegrass act. The first concert, which took place December 17, 2010 featured Bobby Hicks and Tony Rice, and was a sold out performance.

Working with their record label, the band plans to host Darin & Brooke Aldridge (1.15.2011), The Harris Brothers (2.19.2011), The Crowe Brothers (3.12.2011), and The Boxcars (4.16.2011). The exciting part about this series is that future performances, beginning with Darin & Brooke Aldridge on January 15, 2011, will be filmed for webcasting.

This is a huge deal for us! Mountain Home artists make up most of our guests for the series. They are bringing in a professional audio and film crew for the tapings of Darin & Brooke Aldridge, The Harris Brothers, and The Boxcar shows. These will be a lot of fun, feature impromptu jams, and we want you to be a part of these landmark events for us! And tell your friends about it too.

All shows in the concert series start at 7:30pm. Tickets are available online at BalsamRange.com or by calling the Colonial Theatre at 828.235.2760. The Theatre is small, seating only 300, so you’ll want to get your tickets early to these shows! Otherwise, you’ll have to watch the webcast.
