The Wilder Flower, an eclectic and especially talented young string band from the Carolinas, has announced the addition of guitarist, vocalist, and fiddler Audrey Neel to their group. She steps in for founding guitarist Danielle Yother, who was also a primary songwriter.
What sets this band apart is their ability to write, record, and perform original acoustic music that draws from bluegrass, old time, and folk music influences, paired with the unique voices and insights these three young women provide.
Rounding out The Wilder Flower are banjo player, singer, and songwriter Molly Johnston, who has been turning heads at conventions and contests for several years now, and fiddler, singer, and songwriter Madeline Dierauf.
Audrey is a graduate of the Bluegrass, Old Time, and Roots Music Program at East Tennessee State University, and has performed previously with the Becky Buller Band.
Madeline says that they are very pleased with the new sound.
“We miss Danielle every show we play, but we’re really happy to have Audrey and she’s been a great fit.”
The first of several new singles was released last month, one Dierauf wrote and sings, called I Still Have Words.
