Andy Hall to Artistworks Academy of Bluegrass

Event Details

This is a huge week for bluegrass in Nashville with the IBMA World of Bluegrass Conference in town. Many folks will be making a push at the business exhibition portion of the event.

Including themselves this year is the Artistworks Academy of Bluegrass, the online video-based instructional website that features some of the biggest names in the game giving the tutorials. They’ll have their stand set up at Booth 222 (title of a new tune?) so drop by and give them a visit.

One of the things I’m sure they’ll be talking about is the addition of dobro monster Andy Hall heading up the slide guitar section of the site. From their blurb…

“The School of Dobro with Andy Hall, which is scheduled to launch in early 2012, will contain high quality beginner, intermediate and advanced dobro video lessons as well as a number of social features and exclusive performances and interviews with legendary players.”

When you’ve played with Dolly, Wynona and Emmylou, you are bound to draw some attention. Even amongst the myriad masters at ‘IBMA,’ as we call it out here on the left coast.
