For their latest single with Turnberry Records, The Po’ Ramblin’ Boys introduce a new song from bandleader C.J. Lewandowski, Coachella Moon, which he says is a true story of a forbidden romantic getaway.
Told in the Boys’ trademark traditional bluegrass style, the song shares a tale of escaping the winter blues for the sunny sky and warm temperatures of California’s Coachella Valley. But after a few days of blissful togetherness, the couple realizes that it can never be this way, and they return to their separate lives.
Lewandowski shares his own reflections.
“This song is deeply personal. Have you ever met someone you feel is your soulmate, but is already devoted to someone else? Someone you can’t have but who makes your life better in every way possible? That’s what happened to me not too long ago. A happenstance meeting led to a rendezvous in the California desert. Our love grew tremendously—and still is growing—but there’s another who holds the keys to the heart I want.”
C.J. sings lead and provides mandolin, supported by bandmates Jereme Brown on banjo and tenor vocal, John Gooding on guitar, Max Silverstein on fiddle, and Jasper Lorentzen on bass. Keith Burhans adds drums.
Have a listen.
Coachella Moon is available now from popular download and streaming services online, and to radio programmers via Get It Played.
