Needed You from Hammaville

Mountain Fever Records has released a second single from Hammaville, an up-and-coming group hailing from the Shenandoah Valley of Virginia, in advance of their debut album to be released later this year. Needed You, penned by Gabriel Scott, is pensive and sorrowful as it traces the singer’s realization that the woman he loves is gone.

Lead vocalist Daniel Seabolt nicely captures the narrator’s pain and confusion through lyrics like “No number, no regrets, no way for me to reach you. Now, darling, I confess, I didn’t know I needed you.”

The majority of the song features stripped back instrumentation, helping create the image of the singer waking to find himself in an empty, regret-filled house. It’s almost haunting to listen as he processes his grief and the realization that he has caused the relationship’s end.

In addition to Seabolt on lead vocals and guitar, the song also features band members Corey Rackley (mandolin and harmony vocals), David Carroll (harmony vocals), and Blaze Hammer (bass). Guests include Gabriel Scott on fiddle, dobro from Gaven Largent, and Nikki Bethany’s harmony vocals.

Needed You is now available on all major streaming platforms.
