Rounder has announced a February 15 release date for 
Heartache Looking For A Home, the first new album from Charlie Sizemore since 2007. In something of a departure for this former Clinch Mountain Boy turned private attorney, none of the 14 tracks involve him as songwriter.
But there is still a self-referential vibe, without which no Charlie Sizemore CD would be complete. In fact, the album’s first single is No Lawyers In Heaven, which is already getting some attention on Sirius-XM. It’s a future classic from Paul Craft and Billy Edd Wheeler.
Sizemore isn’t concerned, however, about the lack of any of his material on this project.
“I don’t want to make the record I made previously. I just try to keep it interesting for me.”
Charlie is backed here by his talented road band: Josh McMurray on banjo, Danny Barnes on mandolin, John Pennell on bass, and Matt DeSpain on resonator guitar.
There are a few other guests as well…
“I also did a duet with Ralph Stanley on a song my cousin John Preston (I’ve Just Seen The Rock Of Ages) wrote, Red Wicked Wine. We recorded it when I was in his band, but as far as I know if hasn’t been reissued. Just couldn’t make it sound right after singing it with Ralph and he was kind enough to do it with me. The great Ron Stewart played some Curly Ray Cline-influenced fiddle on that one and also played on quite a few other cuts.”
