Mark Newton recovering from brief hospital stay

Event Details

Bluegrass singer Mark Newton had to miss part of the Graves Mountain festival this past weekend, an event he has helped plan and promote for most of its 20 year history. He spent some time in a nearby hospital, but would seem to be doing fine.

He issued this statement last night:

“I would like to thank everyone for their support and well wishes over the last few days. I was hospitalized in Charlottesville, VA over the past weekend for gastrointestinal issues while working at the Graves Mountain Festival of Music. The medical staff provided excellent care during my stay and I am now out of the hospital and headed home to Tennessee.

I look forward to getting back on the stage and hope to see all of my friends and fans soon!”

Great news. We’ll update if we learn more.
