Online fundraiser for David Wiseman

Event Details

Friends of western North Carolina picker David Wiseman have set up a donations page at GiveForward.com to raise money for his medical treatment. David has a rare vascular disease, Wegener’s Granulomatosis, which restricts the flow of blood due to inflammation in the vessels.

The autoimmune disease is incurable, but with treatment, prognosis is good for affected individuals.

Wiseman has medical insurance to cover most of the chemotherapy costs, but is currently unable to work and may not be able to return for another 6 months.

Michael Ramsey, who is helping to organize benefit shows and the donations page, describes his friend this way.

“David Wiseman is a long-time bluegrass musician from the mountains of western North Carolina. He’s a superb tenor and lead singer and a wonderful mandolinist and fiddler.

Growing up in Ingalls, NC, just outside Spruce Pine, he is directly related to the late Lulu Belle & Scotty Wiseman. David has played music in many different bands in the western region of North Carolina for about 40 years.

Many of these efforts have been to help others in many different benefit situations. Now, it’s time for us to help David!”

Donations can be made online at www.giveforward.com.

For friends who would rather send a check, they can be posted to:
