With the fundraising deadline having been extended to August, bluegrass music enthusiasts continue raising money for the proposed new International Bluegrass Music Center in Owensboro, KY.
The extension in time means that the museum can continue to accept donations.
Staff members say that about $6.5 million of the total $9.5 million has been raised so far.
The plan is to turn the old state office building on West Second Street into the International Bluegrass Music Center. It will give the museum scope to expand and add some a performance space.
