Billy Strings endorses Thompson Guitars

Event Details

Billy Strings with his Thompson guitar - photo by Michael WeintrobPreston Thompson Guitars in Sisters, OR has announced that young six-string phenom William Apostle has joined the company as an endorser. You may know him better by his stage name, Billy Strings.

Billy has recently acquired a Thompson D-MA model, a dreadnought body with mahogany back and sides, and an Adirondack spruce top. He first discovered Thompson through fellow endorsing artist, Chris Luquette, of Frank Solivan & Dirty Kitchen.

Not long after playing his first Thompson, Billy came across one at Carter Vintage Guitars in Nashville. He then contacted Thompson about getting one of his own, and an endorsement deal was struck.

A number of flatpickers and bluegrass guitarists have picked up these guitars of late. Other fellow endorsers include Tim May, Jake Workman, Claire Lynch, Adam Chowning, and Peter Rowan.

Here’s video of Billy playing his new D-MA when it came in to Carter’s.

The Preston Thompson guitars are available through a network of dealers worldwide.

You can check out Billy’s new EP in iTunes.
