75 years at Renfro Valley on TV

Event Details

Renfro Valley

Since 1939 Renfro Valley, Kentucky has been synonymous with good, old fashioned country, bluegrass and gospel music. What started out as a barn dance has grown into a massive entertainment and shopping complex that receives visitors from all over the world. They maintain a stable of fine entertainers on staff, and helped the careers of such stellar bluegrass artists as Dale Ann Bradley and Steve Gulley.

To help celebrate their 75th anniversary, Ronnie Reno will dedicate this weekend’s edition of the Reno Old Time Music Show to Renfro Valley and the various attractions, shows and personalities involved. Filmed in August, the episode airing September 13 on cable network RFD-TV, will include historic footage from the early days of the Barn Dance, and interviews with founder John Lair, as well as new music from current staff entertainers.

Maintaining this tradition of hillbilly music and lifestyle is a prime focus of the park, and Ronnie was happy to have a chance to capture on his program.

Check listings in your area for when the Reno Old Time Music Show airs. This special program will be broadcast a second time on December 13.
