When Old Lonesome Comes Around – Randy Jones

When Old Lonesome Comes Around - Randy JonesThe new solo project by Lonesome River Band’s mandolinist/tenor vocalist Randy Jones, When Old Lonesome Comes Around, will be released on March 31st. This will be the first nationally-offered project that he has directed from top to bottom.

The project features a mixture of new creations such as Second Hand Heart penned by Clint Wilson and Carmen Taylor, and new renditions of old standards including Clinch Mountain Backstep and I Know What It Means to Be Lonesome. Also included are two of Randy’s originals.

Jones covers all guitar, mandolin, bass, and drum parts. He also handles the vocal parts with the exception of one, which is covered by Heidi Douglas. The other special guests included on the project are Ron Stewart on fiddle and banjo, and Matt Leadbetter on resonator guitar.

The project can be previewed and ordered on Randy’s site, and he has prepared this video preview as well.

Radio programmers can download tracks from Airplay Direct.
