Welcome Josie Alvis!

Josie Alvis

There’s another addition to our bluegrass family! Zach Alvis (lead singer and mandolinist with Chosen Road) and his wife, Savannah (lead vocalist with the Church Sisters) welcomed a daughter, Josie Leona Alvis, into their fold last Friday. Born at 6:11 p.m., she weighed 6 lbs 6 oz and was 18.5 inches in length. She has a big brother, Jack.

Zach noted…

“Well, July 4th weekend went differently than we had planned, but a certain little girl decided she had plans of her own. It wasn’t the timeline we had planned, but we’re reminded once again that the Lord’s plans are always better than ours. His providence is perfect, and His faithfulness never EVER fails.

We’re overwhelmed with gratitude that our baby girl is healthy, Momma is doing well, Jack is the proudest big brother ever, and shown once again how God has been so kind to us through it all. We know every good and perfect gift comes from Him, and this sweet little life is a reminder of His grace and mercy.

Thank you to everyone who has prayed for us, checked in on us, and celebrated with our family. We are truly blessed beyond what we deserve.”

Savannah agreed, saying…

“We celebrated America’s 250th birthday in a big way! Welcomed Josie Alvis into the world on July 3rd and listened to the fireworks from our hospital window. Her birth truly couldn’t have been more perfect. She came a couple weeks early, but I guess she was excited for America’s 250th birthday, and Chosen Road’s American Morning album! A true American girl.

We’re feeling grateful to live in a country where we can raise our family to trust in God. We appreciate your prayers as we adjust to life as a family of four.”

Zach also shared some scriptures:

“‘Behold, children are a heritage from the Lord, the fruit of the womb a reward.’ Psalm 127:3

‘Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of light.’ James 1:17

‘Before I formed you in the womb I knew you.’ Jeremiah 1:5

Thank you JESUS for this child. I can’t wait to tell her more about you.”

Welcome to world, Josie! Congratulations Zach, Savannah, and Jack!
