We just learned that Thomas Wyrot has joined Alecia Nugent’s Band on banjo. Thomas had recently been performing as a guitarist with The Boohers, and before that with The Mark Newton Band, also on guitar.
That makes the current lineup of Alecia’s band Thomas on banjo, Andy Falco on guitar, Ashby Frank on mandolin and Jennifer Strickland on bass.

Thomas is also working on a solo project, and there are several audio tracks available on his MySpace page. He plays both banjo and guitar on these tracks, and does most of the singing as well.
And speaking of Alecia Nugent… This next week’s Studio Special program on XM’s Bluegrass Junction is an encore presentation of a show with her that was originally broadcast this past spring. It airs on XM Channel 14 this morning at 8:00 a.m., and several mores times over the next seven days.
