Take Me Home, A New Release by The Biscuit Burners

The Biscuit Burners

With a packed international tour schedule that has brought them to Merlefest, Bonnaroo, Rockygrass and Mountain Stage, The Biscuit Burners have established themselves as one of the most exciting and entertaining acoustic bands today. The band’s latest release, Take Me Home, presents a new chapter of their "Fiery Mountain Music," one that is rich with innovation, energy, and a love of many musical traditions. Combining virtuoso instrumentation (Dobro, guitar, fiddle, and bass) with heartfelt lead singing and sweet harmonies, The Biscuit Burners give an Appalachian voice to influences ranging from bluegrass and Americana to jazz and East Indian.
Based in Weaverville, North Carolina, the individual band members have been getting the attention of fans and musicians alike. Mary Lucey’s songwriting was showcased at MerleFest, she toured internationally with the old time band Uncle Earl, and Bluegrass Now wrote a feature article about her. Billy Cardine, known the world over as one of the most creative and accomplished Dobro players, was recently brought in by Grammy-winning producer Randy Kohrs to record on a Scheerhorn resonator guitar compilation CD. Dan Bletz’s intricate and fluid guitar work was showcased in Flatpicking Guitar Magazine, and Odessa Jorgensen’s smooth, subtle vocals and top-notch musicianship have earned her praise as the perfect addition to The Biscuit Burners’ lineup.
