Shannon Whitworth Band and Rain Check Team Up

Event Details

The Shannon Whitworth Band from Asheville, NC and Rain Check, a popular bluegrass band from Winston-Salem, teamed up on Sunday April 19 to play for a benefit in support of the Music In The Streets concert series of the Downtown Winston-Salem Partnership.  Both bands played to a standing room only audience that clearly enjoyed the quality and the divergent styles of both groups.  As Jack Steelman, Rain Check bassist and event coordinator put it, “Bacon and eggs are really different, but the result is great when they’re put together.”  Look for more good things to come from performances with these two groups in the near future.

The Music in the Streets program of the Downtown Winston-Salem Partnership is entering its 12th year of providing free outdoor concerts on the streets of downtown Winston-Salem every Thursday through Saturday night from May through September.
