New single from Jim & Valerie Gabehart

Jim & Valerie Gabehart

Jim & Valerie Gabehart have released a new single to radio in advance of their next CD. It’s the title track, I Was Raised in a Railroad Town, written by fellow West Virginian Kevin Williamson of the Farmhands Quartet.

Featured are regular band members Valerie Gabehart on guitar and lead vocals, Jim Gabehart on banjo, John “Buckwheat” Green on bass, and Brandon Shuping on mandolin. Special guests include Randy Kohrs on reso-guitar, and Steve Thomas on fiddle. Thomas also produced the project.

Jim tells us Williamson wrote the song about his hometown of Huntington, WV…

“…but it could have easily been written about one of hundreds of small towns across the country. We believe that bluegrass audiences everywhere will connect with this song.”

Radio programmers can download the single from Airplay Direct. Any DJs who prefer a full-fidelity track on CD can contact Jim by phone (304-389-5872) or email to get the track by mail.

Look for the new album to hit in early December.
