Laurel Highlands Bluegrass Festival

Laurel Highlands Bluegrass Festival

It’s the 6th annual…
LAUREL HIGHLANDS BLUEGRASS MUSIC FESTIVAL!
June 20-21, 2008
Route 271, Waterford, Just 5 Miles North of Ligonier, PA

MARK YOUR CALENDAR, IT’S #6!
Yeah, it may still be winter, but it won’t be long until it’s time for the
Laurel Highlands Bluegrass Festival! It’ll be hard to top last year’s
festival, as the weather was great, the bands were amazing, the music
workshops were full, and the crowd was the biggest we’ve seen so far. But
from all indications, our Sixth Annual will be the best one yet. (We’ve even
scheduled perfect weather once again.)

We’re now putting the final touches on everything. Last year’s dinners were
a rousing success, but we’re tweaking the menus and adding some new items to
provide an even bigger and better variety of great food. The music workshops
and craft show will be back, as will the kids’ activities, and “cow plop”
contest. The “solar-powered” portajohns were a plus, so we hope to see them
again. Also, Dan Schall will be back on Sunday morning, providing his
musical ministry that features bluegrass and country gospel favorites.

ON STAGE…
Both the Friday evening and Saturday lineups will be filled with top-notch
national, regional and local bluegrass performers. GREAT music will be
provided by:
+ Michael Cleveland & Flamekeeper (IBMA award winners are back!)
+ The Jeanette Williams Band (Incredible singer from Virginia returns — for
both days!)
+ Bill Yates & The Country Gentlemen Tribute Band (Bluegrass legend!)
+ Mountain Therapy (You asked for them — they’re back)
+ Blue Shades (Crowd pleasing local favorites return)
+ Poverty Hollow (Hot new band that’s quickly making a name for itself)
+ Hidden Drive (Great regional band makes their first appearance)
+ New Generation (A look at bluegrass music’s future — today)

Our ol’ buddy John Trout from WYEP-FM’s “Traditional Ties” show and
Ligonier’s Jeff Bell will once again serve as emcees, both keeping the show
on schedule and adding that “certain something” to the festivities.
(Whatever that may be.) First class sound will be provided by Don, Ginger,
and Steve of Soaring Eagle Productions, Bedford, PA.

BIG THANKS FROM THE FIREMEN

appreciate your attendance and your spreading the word about the festival.

The goal all along was to make this an affordable, wholesome, familyfestival that features the best in bluegrass music. Please explore the web site for more info, schedules, directions, etc., and check back oftenfor the latest updates. Also, please support our sponsors who helped make
