Free Christmas music from People Magazine

Event Details

Dailey & Vincent - photo by Scott SimontacchiPeople Magazine has once again published a Country Special Issue for the year end, including a playlist of free music through the iTunes music store. This year, bluegrass luminaries Dailey & Vincent are included, with the musical holiday offering of Beautiful Star of Bethlehem. The cut is from the 2004 CD entitled Christmas Grass Too. The CD is a various artists release from Koch Records.

It is not necessary to purchase the magazine on the newsstand to receive the free download. Simply visit People Magazine’s playlist page and click the link for the iTunes download. You’ll need an account in the iTunes store, and the download is smooth and seamless once you’re logged in. It will download the entire playlist, with includes a total of 8 songs. Only Beautiful Star of Bethlehem is from Dailey & Vincent. The other tunes include a nice instrumental version of Deck the Halls from Steve Wariner, along with cuts from Point of Grace, Brad Paisley, Rascal Flatts, Rodney Carrington, Joe Nichols, and Indigo Girls.

The files were downloaded as 250 kbit m4a files on my Mac. The playlist will be available for free download through January 7, 2011, so even if your holiday schedule if packed, you should have plenty of time to grab these tunes. If you want to enjoy them during the Christmas season, I suggest you download sooner rather than later!
