Doyle adds O Holy Night to iTunes

The video we posted earlier this week of Doyle Lawson & Quicksilver’s arrangement of O Holy Night has been such a hit among their fans, that they have released the audio as a single through iTunes.

It was recorded during the band’s annual Christmas show at The Paramount Theatre in Bristol, TN on December 5. Eli Johnston steps out from behind the bass to sing lead on this track, with vocal harmony from Doyle and Dustin Pyrtle. Joe Dean switches from banjo to guitar, and Josh Swift from reso-guitar to piano, while Stephen Burwell stays on fiddle.

Their version remains true to the traditional manner you might expect for this cherished hymn, and Eli does a bang-up job with the vocal.

If you want this one for your Christmas playlist, it’s there in iTunes now as a single.
