O Holy Night from DL&Q

How ’bout some more Christmas music?

Here is Doyle Lawson & Quicksilver with one of the most beloved Christmas hymns, O Holy Night, a 19th century French poem put to music. It’s been recorded by nearly every singer of note, and is included on holiday concerts worldwide each year.

Eli Johnston takes the lead in this performance, recorded this past weekend at the Paramount Theater in Bristol, TN. Doyle and Dustin Pyrtle sing the harmonies with reso-guitarist Josh Swift on piano, Joe Dean on guitar, and Stephen Burwell on fiddle.

The video was shot by Kristin Bearfield, a fine photographer and bluegrass artist in her own right.
