Dove award nominations announced

The Gospel Music Association has announced the nominees for the 2011 Dove Awards. The winners will be announced during their gala awards show on Easter Sunday (4/24) in Atlanta, GA.

There are two specific bluegrass categories: Bluegrass Recorded Song of the Year and Bluegrass Album of the Year. Both are chock full of strong offerings.

Bluegrass Recorded Song of the Year

  • Blaze of Glory – …Oh Well, Chigger Hill Boys & Terri; writers Marty Funderburk, Mike Richards
  • I’m Going to Make Heaven My Home – Precious Memories, Lewis Tradition; writers Lester Flatt, Earl Scruggs
  • I’m Using My Bible for a Roadmap – Old Fashioned Hymns and Gospel Songs, George Hamilton IV w/Del McCoury & The Moody Bros; writers Don Reno, Charles Schroeder
  • Mountaintop – Straight From the Heart of Dixie, Lizzy Long & Little Roy Lewis; writers Wayne Haun, Lyn Rowell, Lizzy Long
  • Standing – Cherryholmes IV Common Threads, Cherryholmes; writer Sandy Cherryholmes
