Dewey Renfro Cancer Benefit – Sept. 22

Long-time bluegrass bass player Dewey Renfro (most notably with Del McCoury & The Dixie Pals) has been suffering with cancer for several years which eventually caused him to lose a toe and a kidney. The cancer has now progressd to the point where his remaining kidney has stopped working. He has been admitted to York Hospital (York County, PA) where doctors are trying dialysis to help him.

In order to help defray costs for his treatment a benefit concert has been scheduled for Saturday, September 22 at Elicker’s Grove in Spring Grove, PA. The gates open at 10:30 am for this all-day event. Music begins at 11 am. In addition to the concert there will be 50/50 raffles, door prizes and a pig roast. Beverages and food will be available. Admission is $20 per person or $25 per couple in advance – children 15 and under are free. Admission on the day of the show is $25.

More bands and musicians are welcome to participate.
