Crossroads announces Pisgah Ridge Records

Crossroads Entertainment and Marketing, parent company of Mountain Home Music, has launched a new subsidiary label, Pisgah Ridge Records.

The new bluegrass imprint will be used for special projects, like the recently-released solo album from The Boxcars’ John Bowman, and to offer production, publicity and promotion assistance to up-and-coming artists.

To assist with management of the new venture, Crossroads has brought in Tim Surrett from Balsam Range to serve as an A&R consultant, and he sees great potential in their collaboration.

“I’m very excited about Pisgah Ridge. With the popularity of Mountain Home, we saw the need to have a label home for promising bluegrass bands to grow their music and expand their fan base. Mountain Home’s strength in this industry will help open doors for emerging artists on the Pisgah Ridge label. I also look forward to producing these artists whenever possible.

God has blessed us richly in the bluegrass Gospel arena, and I’m proud to be working with Crossroads in delivering great music to a wider audience.”

Pisgah Ridge is designed to function without preconceptions about how artists and labels interact, with agreements structured on a case-by-case basis depending on the needs of potential signees and how the company can best offer assistance. With change quickly becoming the constant in the production and marketing of recorded music, don’t be surprised to see more labels starting discussions in this fashion.
