Bluegrass in the Mad Scientist Journal

Event Details

Mad Scientist Journal - Spring 2013Here’s something you don’t see every day…

The Spring 2013 edition of the Mad Scientist Journal, an ezine of sci-fi, horror, and humorous stories, contains an entry that combines the themes of bluegrass and alien visitation. Chuck the Alien, written by Michael Rettig, is a first-person account of a close encounter of the fifth kind at a friendly bluegrass jam. Or as the cover screams, “Earth Saved By Clog Dancing!”

Chuck visits our planet, where he is said to emit a scent of eucalyptus and cinnamon, and declares after watching a lone dancer clogging to the band…

“It’s better that I could have ever imagined. This is the finest art form in the galaxy. Earth is worth saving.”

You’ll want to read the brief short story online to get the full treatment.

Whew… that was a close one!
