Blue Highway 15 in pictures

Event Details

This past Friday night (3/12/2010) was a big night in Roanoke, VA. Bluegrass supergroup Blue Highway, performed their 15th anniversary show at the Jefferson Center in downtown Roanoke. This band has been an inspiration to many bluegrass fans and pickers, and it was an honor to be part of their 15th anniversary celebration.

The concert was fantastic. The band performed many of their perennial favorites, as well as a number of newer songs, including a few with some special guests. Rachel Renee Johnson of the Dixie Bee-Liners joined the guys for a couple numbers. Steve Gulley took to the stage and sang a number with Tim Stafford that we’re told will be included on an upcoming CD release from the songwriting duo. And Wayne Taylor’s personal physician even joined the band on clawhammer banjo for one tune. All in all, it was a fun evening of music.

Here are a few photos I snapped before, during, and after the show.
