A Dream video from Ashleigh Caudill

Looney Bird - Ashleigh CaudillHere’s another new video released today. It’s a song from Ashleigh Caudill’s upcoming album, Looney Bird, one she wrote called A Dream.

She’s followed a familiar path for today’s most promising string musicians and songwriters. From her home in Colorado Ashleigh moved to Boston and the Berklee College of Music. After graduation she played with a number of groups in the thriving New England folk and bluegrass scene, and now lives in Nashville where she writes and performs.

Looney Bird, due April 1, showcases her singing, picking, and songwriting skills mixing her love of old time and bluegrass music.

Ashley tells us that A Dream came to her in a moment that most of us can identify with.

“I woke up one early spring morning to the sound of a gentle rain with the faint memory of a dream lingering in my mind. Its hard to hang on to a pleasant dream, so you grasp at every detail as it fades into the abyss of your subconscious. What your left with often doesn’t make logical sense in the light of day, but, boy, can they be lovely. I tried to make this as dreamlike as I could and that’s the reason for the odd form, the not-so-traditional voicing of the background ooo’s, and my favorite, the jingle heart, at the beginning and end. Here’s to your sleeping mind showing you a little love now and then!”
