Harry Lane

Event Details

Harry made a banjo neck for me in the early 70’s.  At that time he was just beginning to make banjos and I remember only a few at his place.  Our group, “The Cumberlands” played several times a year at “The Boar’s Head” in Savannah and we became friends with Harry and his brother, Tom.  Our group members at that time were: Harold Thom, Jim Smoak, Charlie Faught and Betty Thom…….Later Dave Cosson joined the group.   We had some great times with Harry in Savannah, but a highlight was the day Harry took us fishing……..in his Rolls Royce…..with fishing poles sticking out of the back window!   AHHH……the hippie days!        I still have my HL banjo neck.
