On March 27, Carnegie Hall in New York City hosted a production of From Sea to Shining Sea, a children’s musical based on Appalachian history. The production was staged by Walker Performing Arts, a youth theater group from Hagerstown, MD with Teri Walker directing.
Music was provided by Dry Mill Road, with guest fiddler Patrick MacAvinue. The bluegrass band was visible on stage during the show and Patrick, who tours with Audie Blaylock & Redline, tells us that it was well received.
“It was truly a wonderful experience. All the kids were so enthusiastic and talented! Not to mention, it was at Carnegie Hall (cross that off the bucket list!).
I got a call from Robert Mabe of Drymill Road to come and perform with them. I’ve known Rob and the guys for a couple years, and they are a great group of guys, along with being top notch musicians.”
