The Sheridan Bluegrass Fever Festival was evacuated on Saturday (7/12/14) by a fire that was three blocks away from the park where the festival was being held. The fire did not get close to the grounds, but the smoke floated over to the park and made it hazardous to breathe. The County Sherrifs made the final call to evacuate the park.
But the first half of the day was great! Line up included Branded Bluegrass, The Coffey Brothers, Jeremy Morris & Harvest Road Band, Audie Blaylock, and Karl.
The buildings that caught fire were evidently vacant, but at the time we left the fire was still not contained. Five city fire departments were there trying to control the fire.
Please pray for the folks of Sheridan, Indiana that everyone is safe and sound. The fire was in the downtown/old town district. I hate to see history be destroyed.
