Sleepy Man Banjo Boys on Huckabee, part deux

Event Details

Once again, here are those precocious New Jersey grassers, Robbie, Jonny and Tommy Mizzone, performing as the Sleepy Man Banjo Boys on national television. They were invited back for another spot on the Huckabee show yesterday, after tearing it up on the program the week before.

Jonny does a bang-up job on the Earl Scruggs classic, Bugle Call Rag, including the super-tricky jump lick towards the end. Banjo pickers often suggest that lick as separating the men from the boys. What’ll they say now?

His brothers do a fine job as well.

Keep an eye out for the Mizzone’s CD, America’s Music, due out in September.
