Walking Through Bethlehem from Daughters of Bluegrass

Walking Through BethlehemDaughters of Bluegrass have released a first single from Pickin’ Like A Girl, their upcoming 3-disc box set project.

The Tom T. and Dixie Hall song written with Billy Smith, Walking Through Bethlehem, has a decidedly Isaacs vibe. Sonya Isaacs takes the lead vocal, with her sister (Rebecca) and mom (Lily) providing harmonies. But wait… there’s more. The track was recorded and produced by brother Ben.

Beth Lawrence is on bass, and Laura Cash on fiddle with Sonya playing mandolin and Rebecca guitar.

Pickin’ Like A Girl will be the most ambitious project to date for the Daughters of Bluegrass, a loose aggregation of female bluegrass artists ranging from teens to, well… a certain age. For this third official release, a total of 51 songs on 3 CDs, with 1 being all Gospel.

More details and a drop date for the set should be available soon.

Walking Through Bethlehem can be purchased for download now from the popular online digital resellers. Radio programmers can get an airplay copy at Airplay Direct.
