A few months ago we shared news about a debut single from Bluegrass Express, the title track from their recent release, Answer To My Prayers.
Now that the album is out, the band has prepared a video overview with a taste of the crisp picking and soulful three and four-part harmony that has been the hallmark of the group this past 36 years. Formed in 1980 by Gary Underwood and his son Greg, the band now also features Greg’s son, Jacob, on banjo. That’s some real family harmony right there!
In addition to Gary on guitar and Greg on bass, Bluegrass Express includes Nate Burie on mandolin, with Jacob on the five.
For Answer To My Prayer, they also had assistance for John Bowan and Tim Crouch on fiddle, and Justin Moses on reso-guitar.
The new album, an all-Gospel effort, is available as either a CD or download from the band’s web site.
