Video on inaugural DC Bluegrass Festival

We had posted earlier this year about the first-ever DC Bluegrass Festival, which was held March 27 in McLean, VA.

Much of our pre-event focus was on banjo legend Bill Emerson, and him being the recipient of the first Washington Monument Award from the DC Bluegrass Union at the fest.

Emerson is prominently featured in a video recap of the event, shot and edited by Kate Sheehy of WAMU’s Bluegrass Country, located in Washington. It gives a nice history of bluegrass in DC, including an interview with Bill and several other DC bluegrass pioneers.
