Traveling Show video from Songs From The Road Band

Traveling Show - Songs From The Road BandHere’s a question for you… Is it still a special project band after your third album together?

That’s one to ask the Songs From The Road Band, who first assembled in 2004 from a number of newgrass and Americana acts to record songs that Charles R Humphrey III had written while touring as the bass player with Steep Canyon Rangers. And now they are back for a third time with an album called Traveling Show.

The basis of the group is Andy Thorn on banjo, Jon Stickley on guitar, Mark Schimick on mandolin, Bobby Britt on fiddle, and Humphrey on bass. They were the ones who got together in ’04 when they were jamming buddies around Charlotte, NC. They are joined now by Andrew Martin on guitar, Phil Barker on mandolin, and Sam Wharton for another set of songs that Charles wrote with a number of co-writers.

Traveling Show isn’t due until April 21, but the band has put together this preview video to whet your appetite before round three drops.
