The Fabulous Bagasse Boyz—-World Tour—Well Kinda

The Fabulous Bagasse World Tour

That’s right . . . you read that correctly . . . *The Fabulous Bagasse
Boyz* are going on the road! We all knew this day was coming and here it is. We have finally got on the very last nerve of every person in East and West Baton Rouge Parishes as well as Livingston Parish and the only places that we can play are out of state where nobody knows us and our reputation has not preceded us . . . no wait . . . there are two little old ladies who live in an apartment complex near Corporate Boulevard who we have not aggravated yet . . . well, we’ll take care of them next Friday, April 11th when we play at *Whole Foods Market, *7529 Corporate Blvd. Baton Rouge, LA 70809, 225.218.0452, from 5:30 PM to 7:30 PM for their *Artist Appreciation Series Concert*. We’re back amongst the fruits and nuts for a return visit to the land of tofu and tahini. We always said we would play at the opening of a can of peas but who thought anyone would take that literally. Anyway, come on out for good food, great shopping and really mediocre music.

And after those two little old ladies scurry from the store saying “My word, what’s this world coming to?”, we’ll be heading off to Carrollton, MS to play at the *Carroll County Market *on Saturday, April 12th.
(we’re starting to notice a pattern here of playing in supermarkets . .
. maybe we could be the spokesband for Piggly Wiggly . . . ). *Carroll County Market* is the hot new music venue in the South featuring such groups as /Nash Street, King Billy /and/ The Freight Hoppers/. How in the world they got rooked into booking *The Boyz* is a mystery but there we are anyway. Check out their web site at http://www.carrollcountymarket.com/ for more information and directions (it’s about a hundred miles north of Jackson, MS, so that explains why they never heard of *The Fabulous Bagasse Boyz*). And at the /Carroll County Market/ *The Boyz *will have a big surprise, so stay tuned for details!!

The next Friday, April 18th we’ll be at the *2008 White Sands Music
Festival* in Milton, FL. Also on the bill are /Blue Moon Rising, B.L.T., our friends Delta Reign, Rowell Bluegrass Band, White Sands Panhandle Band, Gary Waldrep, Sawgrass Revival, Nothin’ Fancy, Pure & Simple /and/ The Rivertown Girls/. What a great lineup, only one dud in the whole show but hey, you gotta go to the bathroom sometime. Check out their web site at http://farmersopry.com/wsmf/ for times, directions and more info.

And then to top off The Grand Tour, *The Fabulous Bagasse Boyz* will be in Mobile, AL on Saturday April 19th for /St. Mary’s Knights of Columbus/ *Crawfish and Bluegrass Extravaganza*. *The Boyz* kick off the show at 5:00 PM followed by /The Dog River Boys, The Coosa River Broadcasters, Delta Reign /and/ Fatman Squeeze. /Check their web site at http://www.stmarymobile.org/koc/Crawfish.asp for more info.

Wowzee dowzee, four states in 9 days!! What a tour . . . and then we’re back at *Whole Foods Market *again on Saturday, May 10th at 12:00 noon just in case we missed anyone else to annoy and for all of our friends with really bad short term memory.

Okay, okay, we know you’re going to bug us to death until we tell you the aforementioned “big surprise” so here it is . . . our good friend and mandolin virtuoso *Doug “Throckmorton” Andersen* from Water Valley, MS will be occasionally sitting in with *The Fabulous Bagasse Boyz.
*Chris Thile and Ronnie McCoury got into a fist fight to see who would get to play with *The Boyz* but we prefer Doug for his smooth playing style, laid back “Bagasse like” attitude and his scrumptious /Jalape?±o, Cheese and Pork Cracklin’ Hushpuppies/. Doug will now be known as /The
Occasional Bagasse. /(Sorry Doug, we know you wanted to stay
anonymous but hey, you can still wear the fake nose and glasses).

That’s all for now but there might be a big announcement coming about a certain bluegrass band that shall go unmentioned going into the studio soon for another CD project . . .

See ya’ll soon . . .
