The Beachley & Scott Band hits the road

Event Details

We’ve just receive word of a new bluegrass mega-merger featuring a pair of Doyle Lawson & Quicksilver alums. Darren Beachley and Barry Scott have united to form the Beachley & Scott Band, and will take it to the streets in 2011.

Both men have been fronting their own groups in recent years; Scott with Barry Scott & Second Wind, and Beachley with Darren Beachley & Legends of the Potomac. Both have undergone some major personnel losses this year, leading to the discussions that have brought them together professionally.

The new group will launch on January 1, and fulfill all the current dates previously booked by both bands.

Darren shared a few words on the new partnership…

“Barry and I had talked a few years back about teaming up, but the timing wasn’t right. After some success with both of our groups, we felt it was a good time to do it.

My grandmother always loved Barry’s singing. She passed on November 15th and it’s like I have been feeling this push to get together with Barry and put this thing on the road. I’m VERY excitied!”

Both men are terrific singers so this could be a mighty strong vocal group. Darren said that an announcement will be made soon about the lineup for the new band.

A new web site is expected soon as well. Beachley can be contacted in the meantime via email or phone (240-285-0055).
