Ramsey Carpenter wins Miss America talent competition

Event Details

Ramsay Carpenter

Well done Miss Kentucky!

Last night, during preliminaries at the Miss America pageant in Atlantic City, NJ, Ramsey Carpenter took first place in the talent competition for her fiery fiddle medley of Sally Gooden and Orange Blossom Special. As the talent winner, she receives a $2,000 scholarship.

Also taking a trophy last night was Alex Eppler, Miss Oklahoma, in the Lifestyle and Fitness competition.

We have followed Ramsey since she won the Miss Kentucky pageant last year, as she has played bluegrass music since she was in school. You all may have your favorites for Miss America 2015, but here at Bluegrass Today, we are solidly behind Ramsey Carpenter.

The final competitions will be held on September 14, and will be shown on ABC television.

You can vote in the America’s Choice portion of the pageant online.
