Bluegrass Crosswords: Kenny Baker’s 100th Birthday

Event Details

Bluegrass Today Crosswords

Kenny Baker, “the greatest bluegrass fiddler in the world,” was born June 26, 1926, so he would be 100 years old today. His first job was with Don Gibson’s band in 1953, but he’s best known as the longest-tenured member of Bill Monroe and the Blue Grass Boys, serving between 1957 and 1984, with the longest stretch from 1967 to 1984—that’s 17-1/2 years!

Our puzzle this week contains the titles of some of his original fiddle tunes and others he made popular. Every bluegrass fiddler owes that man a debt, so take a moment to celebrate his birthday and honor his career.

Remember, if you need some help with a clue, you can use the “Assist” menu (or the light bulb icon, if you’re on a mobile device), any time you see the words [HINT AVAILABLE].
