Old River video from Nightflyer

Event Details

Matthew O’Pry films Nightflyer from the banks of the OhioOhio’s Nightflyer has just released their first professionally-produced music video, for Hazel Dickens’ Old River, which the band has included on its latest CD, Rail, River & Road.

The guys spent two days working with Director/Editor Shanon Rice, and videographer Matthew O’Pry of SNM Films along the banks of the Ohio river near Cincinnati. In what may be a first for bluegrass videos, it includes some underwater photography, requiring special equipment to be flown in to get the shots.

Rick Hays, Nightflyer mandolinist, said that…

“All the guys thoroughly enjoyed the experience, are thrilled with the results and can’t wait to do the next one. We hope you enjoy it.”

In addition to Rick, Nightflyer is Ronnie Stewart on banjo (and lead vocals on this song), Richard Props on guitar, Tony Kakaris on bass, and Tim Jackson on reso-guitar.
