New Music from Mountain Heart

Mountain HeartThe newly reformed and reinvigorated Mountain Heart has been in the studio this past few months, putting together their first recorded project from the new lineup.

Josh Shilling and Aaron Ramsey remain from the previous active version of the boundary-pushing grassers, as does Seth Taylor who joined in 2011. Recent additions include Molly Cherryholmes and Jeff Partin.

From the video they created for their PledgeMusic crowdsourcing campaign, it seems they are working the same vein of contemporary Americana, country, and bluegrass music that has been their wont, but with perhaps an added injection of youth and vitality.

The PledgeMusic effort is designed to both provide advance pre-order opportunities for the album and help raise funds for the band’s 2016 tour. They are hoping for enough fan funding to purchase a new vehicle, and are offering some fairly generous premiums to donors willing to help out.
