Longest Running Bluegrass Radio Show

Event Details

I’ll add to the discussion with the note that Stained Glass Bluegrass has been on WAMU 88.5 in Washington, DC since 1974. Although the hours have shifted somewhat during this period, it has been aired continuously by originator Gary Henderson and the late Red Shipley who hosted for the last 25 years until his retirement in mid-September. Bob Webster carries the tradition forward. The show can be heard live on www.bluegrasscountry.org on Sunday mornings 6-10 EDT and it is repeated beginning at 9 pm on Tueday night. Listeners in the Washington, DC area can also listen on WAMU 88.5 FM, HD Channel 2.
