Breedlove Guitar Co. is a medium sized instrument manufacturer located in Bend, Oregon. They manufacture both electric and acoustic guitars, basses, and mandolins.
They’ve cut 5 jobs at their plant. That is a 10% reduction in staff, leaving 46 workers to produce the 15,000 instruments the company turns out annually. Breedlove is projecting flat sales in the US for 2009, with no decrease or increase in sales over 2008.
"It’s just a reflection of trying to find the right size for our manufacturing operations for the coming year," she [Connie Hensley-Jones, controller] said. "We felt we were overstaffed and we needed to cut back."
