Here’s a very clever music video from The Jaywalkers, a young alt-grass trio from the north west of England.
Its Been A Long Day is one of the tracks from Weave, the group’s 2015 recording for Rootbeat Records. It’s a lovely song, featuring the beautiful voice of fiddler Jay Bradberry, showcased in a unique video presentation which finds The Jaywalkers as both stage performers, and their own audience.
These youthful string artists have developed a fresh sound that derives from both the US bluegrass/old time scene and the rich tradition of British folk music. Well worth a listen.
In addition to Bradberry, The Jaywalkers are Michael Giverin on mandolin and Lucy Williams on bass.
