Flatt & Scruggs Tribute Band live online

What are you doing for Earl Scruggs’ birthday on Friday?

Earl turns 88 on January 6, and banjo players worldwide will bow towards Flint Hill, NC to pay homage to the man who brought 3 finger, bluegrass-style banjo to the forefront with Bill Monroe in 1945.

Concert Window will celebrate the event with a live online broadcast from The Flatt & Scruggs Tribute Band at the Freight and Salvage Coffeehouse in Berkeley, CA.

The Tribute Band features many of northern California’s best bluegrass musicians, including Bill Evans (banjo) and David Thom (guitar) performing the repertoire of Lester Flatt, Earl Scruggs & The Foggy Mountain Boys. For Friday night’s show, Don Rigbsy and Kathy Kallick will be joining the Tribute Band on stage.

The concert will be cybercast in stereo HD starting at 11:00 p.m. eastern (8:00 p.m. pacific). Concert Window charges $3 to view a single show, with monthly subscriptions offered for $8.99.
