Faster and Farther coming from Darin & Brooke

Faster and Farther - Darin & Brooke AldridgeMountain Home Music has announced February 10 as the release date for the next album from Darin & Brooke Aldridge, Faster And Farther. It will be their sixth record for the North Carolina-based label.

The husband-and-wife team has spent part of this year touring with John Cowan, and the rest performing their own music with their own band. Many folks in the industry have been wondering whether this next recording would also feature the former New Grass Revival bassist, and whether the Aldridges’ run with Cowan would leave a mark on their band sound.

As you can see in this video tease for the album’s opening track and first single, the answer is clearly yes. It’s a Pat Flynn song called Kingdom Come, which was included on his 2014 project, reNew. Darin kicks it off with a very Sam Bush-like mandolin riff, and Brooke enters with all the power and intensity you would expect from a New Grass number.

The single is available now in iTunes, and you can get it as an instant download if you preorder the full album.

Faster And Farther offers twelve new tracks, with Cowan adding harmony vocals to several. His presence is also felt in the inclusion of one of his songs, This River, which John has been quoted as saying was very special to him. Darin sings it here, but Cowan is the featured singer on another Pat Flynn original from the NGR days, Lila, which was a showstopper at the time. Vince Gill also makes an appearance as guest vocalist.

This should be a good’n.
