Brad Gulley to Cumberland River

Cumberland River has announced that Brad Gulley has joined the band on guitar. He will also provide lead and harmony vocals in the band.

Brad comes by his talent naturally, as both of his parents are exceptional vocalists. His dad, Steve Gulley, has made quite a name for himself in bluegrass during his time with Doyle Lawson & Quicksilver, Mountain Heart, and now Grasstowne. On top of that, his step- mom, Debbie Clark Gulley, has worked as a singer at Renfro Valley for more than 25 years.

Steve tells us that like his own father with him, they never pushed Brad into music. Fortunately, he gravitated that way on his own.

“I couldn’t be happier about Brad’s decision to join Cumberland River. I think he’s up for the challenge.

He’s a talented fellow and the guys in the band are all so very talented. I think it’s a great fit for everyone involved and I can’t wait to hear them perform together.”

Cumberland River has made quite a splash this past year, both for their energetic performances, and for their association with the FX television series Justified. Like the show, the band is based in Harlan County, KY and a chance meeting with the producers landed them a chance to perform for the staff, leading to the inclusion of one of their songs in the program’s soundtrack during this past season.

Their latest album, The Life We Live, was released in July on Rural Rhythm.
