A Life of Sorrow – a video vignette

Event Details

A Life Of SorrowWe’ve written several times of late about Gary Reid and his one-man show telling the life story of Carter Stanley, A Life of Sorrow – the Life and Times of Carter Stanley. Gary has spent several years writing the play, preparing it for the stage, and has now performed it several times before a live audience.

Though the story of Carter Stanley – and The Stanley Brothers – exists for all to find in the histories and biographies, there is something quite special in seeing it unfold before your eyes, and Reid’s play has the ability to make things real for anyone who attends its performance.

Gary has put together this video to explain what he’s done with this work, including several scenes of him portraying Carter on stage.

If you know of a suitable venue to have this staged in your area, Gary’s contact info is contained in the video. It’s a riveting stage show, sure to entertain any gathering of bluegrass or live theater lovers.
